Celebrating the new illustrated men

Gay men are ga-ga for comic book characters, especially now that a new generation of homoerotic artists has started cranking out adults-only stuff like the work on display at a new Toonfetish show in Los Angeles, or my favorite tiny tome, the hilarious ABC Book. But it's Robin from the Batman film series, played by Chris O'Donnell (left), who's on my mind this morning. I loved that get-up O'Donnell wore first in Batman Forever opposite Val Kilmer and then in Batman & Robin with George Clooney. Bring me the smelling salts, Aunt Harriet; O'Donnell turns 37 today! Like your 'toons even more edgy? Check out the Toonfetish exhibit at the Antebellum Gallery in Los Angeles, now through July 13.
