Ballpark area now on Halloween venue list
San Francisco city officials are now considering a site near AT&T ballpark as the new venue for the sometimes-violent Halloween night celebrations they're trying to move from their traditional home in the Castro. Last year, a gunman wounded nine people, despite the presence of hundreds of police officers. “We’re just looking to reduce the stress and anxiety in the Castro; that’s our primary focus -- to make sure we don’t continue with the same problems we’ve seen in the last few years,” Mayor Gavin Newsom said.
